Proposal

After meeting with my team and compiling ideas we have decided to go with a three part zine. As we are all quite different photographers with a varying ideas and interests we thought it would be best if each of us had a different chapter in which we would explore our own areas in photography. Josh is looking at architecture, Nele is looking at fashion and I am looking music.

We discussed the fact that the zine may look disjointed due to the fact there are different blocks for each person so we have decided to have our aesthetic as the linking element. We have drawn inspiration from minimalistic magazines with a geometric design. We will also have the whole zine in grey scale. The ideas we have at the moment are: gill sans as the text, thin black boxes around certain pages, images and text, lines of dots in certain places and a general minimalistic aesthetic with lots of space and no unneeded content.

As the zine is grey scale we have decided to print it on normal paper as the quality and colour tones will not be impaired. This will also be in keeping with classic hand made zines. We will be binding in with staples.

Our content will consist of interviews and articles outlining different areas of our chosen fields. I am looking to interview photographers from different areas of music photography e.g. documentry photographers, event photographers and commercial advertising photographers. For my articles I want to delve into issues that I cover in the interviews. I hope to cover: how to become a successful event photographer, the pro's and con's of social media, the fact there is more than just events and gigs to music photography and the benefits of networking.

We all aim to add around 2 interviews and 2 articles to our sections.
