Zine
Idea
Lifestyle photography –
I
find lifestyle photography such an interesting subject to view in a zine,
magazine and social media format. The random spontaneity and current feel to
the ongoing subject matter relates strongly to the ethos of a zine e.g. a zine
is something current and disposable.
Skate Photography –
I
have recently produced a zine on the theme of skate culture and was extremely
pleased with the outcome. I really like the idea of documenting subcultures and
I think a zine is a brilliant was of doing so. This theme also draws from the
idea of lifestyle photography so the two ideas work side by side.
Fashion Photography –
I
have never really ventured into fashion photography but would be interested in
testing the water. I have friends studying fashion so this could be a brilliant
chances for some collaboration. As fashion is an ever changing and evolving
entity a zine is a perfect way of presenting it as zines move with the time and
once they are out if date can be disposed of.
Professional
Practice
Photograph for a club (Motion, Lakota
etc.) –
I
love the scene surrounding these clubs and I also love photography so I can’t
think of anything better than bringing them both together. This is also another
brilliant chance to delve into the realms of lifestyle photography, to be a fly
on the wall. I have always been reticent to become a club photographer but if
it was for a club in which I actually enjoy being inside and respect, with
artist performing that I actually want to see I think it would be brilliant.
Shoot for an independent/local clothing
company –
As
I have already said, I have little experience in photographing fashion but I do
have experience in photographing people. I would be interested in shooting in a
lookbook style, where I would not only be photographing the clothes but the
people inside the showing them being worn in interesting spaces and situations.
